Sharing Some Light. 10 Favorite Quotes along with Pictures I Shared These Past 10 Months.

Hello friends

This week I am taking things simple.

Last August, I found myself in a place of sadness. I found there was so much divided energy and heaviness in posts that I would see on social media and it really got to me. Being an empath is not an easy characteristic to have. I was ready to tune out, but felt I needed to hold on because I still wanted to be connected with the meditation group and our family fundraiser “40 Books in 365 Days”. So I stayed, and mindfully limited my scroll. One day I saw a post that pretty much said…do not turn off the social media and run away, be the light. I thought this was an interesting approach and knew this was something I could easily do. I wanted to find a way to be the light and contribute in a positive way.

Thanks to all the time on my hands and the daily walks in nature to seek something familiar during the lockdown, I began taking pictures again with more intention behind them. We are surrounded by so much beauty. Capturing images that turned out decent, brought me joy. I decided to push aside my nerves and the little voice in my head and started sharing them with people. Pictures from the past and present. I thought that if these images brought me happiness, maybe it would bring someone else a feeling of happiness or make their moment as they scrolled through their feed. I also loved inspirational quotes, so I decided to pair up quotes with my favorite pictures and post one every day on my 40 Books in 365 Days Facebook page and in my stories on Instagram. I began this project in September 2020. I have been consistent at least 5 days a week posting a picture with a quote. I hope that I was able to bring a little bit of joy to someone’s day who maybe was struggling or just needed a pick me up.
