On this particular day in September I was sitting in my car in the parking lot at Cascade Pond when I saw this raven outside of my window. He was just walking around right beside my car minding his own business. I opened my window and figured he would fly away, but he didn't. So, I grabbed my camera. Weirdly enough I have always wanted to take a photo of a raven or crow close up where you could see all of the details. Black birds are hard to photograph and I really wanted the sharp eye. Anyway, I took this picture and then brought it home, spiced it up a bit and turned it into black and white, which really wasn't much different from the original photo.
This 8" x 10" photo is printed on Ultra Lustre Premium Paper enhancing the image and will last longer than regular photo paper.
Happy Accidents for me. I had ordered a bunch of new prints from Bob, the printer guy. He had some printer problems and my Raven kept on printing. All of a sudden I had 6 more copies than I wanted. He gave me a great deal and I said in return I would sell them as a Fundraiser Item for the Children we sponsor in Kenya. So, all of the proceeds of 6 of the prints will go towards the education of the 8 remaining children we sponsor in Kenya. Please take a look on my website "40 Books in 365 Days" for the story.
The print is available in larger sizes on Ultra Lustre Premium Paper or Fine Art Textured Paper. Please email me at rikkineukom@gmail.com for prices.
